Building readiness for freedom and prosperity in a new Iran

Cyrus Forum aids peaceful, durable transition to democracy in Iran through a multi-stakeholder collaborative process convening Iranian leaders with each other and with international experts, lessons and best practices in priority sectors.
Our efforts will result in a Transition Toolkit with needs assessments, strategic plans, and policy frameworks to facilitate stable change from tyranny to liberty. In the longer term, we strive to become a think tank to foster Iran’s democratic development and economic growth.
We are guided by the following objectives:
→ To prevent violence and instability upon overthrow or dissolution of the current regime
→ To ensure readiness for democratic transition and good governance
→ To establish policy groundwork for rehabilitation of all sectors of political, social, and economic life
A secure transition to democracy
For liberty to take hold and be enduring, Iran will need to ensure stability while building the institutions of accountable governance. Cyrus Forum will cultivate expertise for strong national security while developing capacity for the establishment of transitional government, constitution writing, truth and reconciliation, transitional justice, and establishment of a strong, independent judiciary.
Rehabilitation of the individual, society, and the environment
Iran’s children, women, and minorities have paid the highest price living under tyranny. Cyrus Forum prioritizes capacity development for securing their human rights and needs, and psycho-social support for the most vulnerable. As part of the holistic rehabilitation of society, we focus on what is most pressing for transformation of the education and health sectors, and will enable collaboration to solve Iran’s environmental crises.
A thriving economy
The Iranian people hold tremendous capacity to have a first-class open market integrated with the world. Cyrus Forum will cull international best practices for transitioning a corrupt rentier state to a thriving capitalist economy. We will focus on policy frameworks to foster robust foreign investment and bountiful opportunity for entrepreneurship and innovation.
